The Fever Dream

I snapped this shot with my old man’s battered Nikon F3, loaded with Ilford HP5—a classic pairing, like whiskey and bad decisions. The negative got scanned, tossed online for a fleeting moment of glory, and then buried. Forgotten. Left to gather metaphorical dust in my chaotic archive of analog relics.

Fast forward to a few weeks ago. I found myself knee-deep in the colossal task of reorganizing my darkroom—a noble endeavor, or so I told myself. That’s when I stumbled across the forgotten negative, a little slice of photographic purgatory. In a moment of shameless procrastination, I ditched the organization project entirely and decided to make some prints instead. A small rebellion against productivity.
