The Fire Suppression Print
A few weeks ago, I printed the “Noctilux Flathead”—an overhead shot of a snarling flathead engine, taken while I teetered on ladders like a lunatic. But I wasn’t done. Same session, ground-level shot. Problem was, I didn’t adjust the overhead lighting, leaving the result flat and underwhelming.
Last week, I went to war in the darkroom. Dodging, burning, cursing—burning through paper like a madman until I found redemption. The final prints? They’ve got weight, grit, and soul. I made five, 17”x22”, signed and numbered.
And here’s the deal: I’m selling them to help LA. When the smoke clears and the ashes settle, there will be members of the HAMB community who’ve lost it all. They’re the ones who’ll benefit from this. The first we identify will be the first to receive.
